A lot of plants are seen as weeds, but most plants are edible and/or can be used in teas, spells, potions, and tinctures. You may dry them if you like as well
🌿Nettle: Strength, banishing evil, protection, banishing fear
🍃Lambs Quarters: (most nutritious on this list, great vitamin and protein source) Healing, protection, repair a broken heart, ease grief and emotional loss (tastes almost identical to spinach)
🌴Mugwort: fertility, prevent backache and cure disease & madness, divination, astral travel, prophetic dreams, strong moon connection (tastes slightly bitter, helps control appetite, put leaves in shoes to be able to walk farther without sore feet)
8-10 oz Coffee (productivity, energy, mental health)
Sugar and Creamer optional
Cinnamon (happiness)
Nutmeg (luck)
Make your cup of coffee the way you like, sprinkle in the spices and stir. As you stir recite:
Give me strength so I can write,
Give me imagination and insight.
Keep me on track,
keep the motivation I lack.
Meditate on this verse and you sip your coffee. Remember you were created to create yourself. You are in the Lord’s image.
Exodus 35:31-32 : And he has filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, with intelligence, with knowledge, and with all craftsmanship, to devise artistic designs, to work in gold and silver and bronze
After your cup of coffee, refill if you wish and get writing. Remember the Lord made you to create. Praise and thank Him for your gifts, and just have fun. Even if you only write 50 words, just write, you still got something on the page.
Dried seedpods, commonly refered to as Witches’ Balls, Witches’ Burrs, and Sticker Balls, are protective and can be “loaded” by sprinkling herbs into the holes and then sealing with wax for warding. The dried seedpods can also be placed on windowsills or in corners of the home to act as protective elements to set or reinforce wards. The pods can also be used in witches bottles to protect the home and prevent theft. Witches’ burrs can also be used for commanding and compelling. A photo of the target or a name paper can be wrapped around the spikes of the seedpod, intended to cause them anguish until they complete commands. Burrs can also be added to hex jars.
Leaves. Sweetgum leaves are shaped like stars and can be pressed and used for bookmarks. They’re protective and can be used like bayleaves in spells: inscribe something on the leaf and burn it to assist manifestation.
Gum Resin. The resin the tree exudes, called Stryax Resin, can be used much like benzoin. If you can find a tree with globs of hardened sap from past injuries it can be saved and used as purification incense or as an offering. The gum is known to have a sweet taste and is mildly anti inflammatory. Can be added to washes, colognes and mixtures to provide protection, especially from spirits, healing, or luck.
A quick note: Please don’t send me asks relating to weather magic. It is an interest of mine but I am not comfortable teaching others yet. I’ll link some helpful blogs at the bottom!
The Chicago library just posted a bunch of old manuscripts online to get the public’s help with translation and transcription. One of these manuscripts was “The Book of Magical Charms”, an anonymous grimoire from 17th century England.
This is PURE CHRISTIAN WITCHERY. It’s got spirit conjurings, (use with care), sigils, (also use with care), spells and potions, (USE WITH CARE don’t be eating anything a 17th century manuscript says to eat without researching it first), prayers galore. Some of it is in Latin, but if you hit the translator tab, a bunch of people have already translated some significant chunks. Me myself will be digging out my Latin textbooks because I am THAT LEVEL OF NERD.
this is a spell to encourage growth, beauty, positivity and development. it will inspire you to improve yourself and give you a radiant aura like blossoms in spring. best done during a new or waxing moon. you will need:
✿ one flower (preferably with a stem) that is currently blooming in your region, to represent the present time and the place in the world you reside.
✿ pastel pink, blue, white candle(s), to represent the spring, positivity, self love
1. wait until morning to cast this spell, while the sun is out. light your candle(s) and hold your hands above the flame to warm them for a moment, then take your warmed hands and press them against your cheeks to place rosy glowy energy into them.
2. hold the spring blossom in your hands and whisper kind words to it. tell it how you love its radiance, happiness and growth; ask it to teach you how.
3. wear the blossom behind your ear, blow out the candle(s), and go about your day.
Since it’s super hard to find them when you need them! Anyone is welcome to use these, but I don’t want to see “this is great for people who DON’T have chronic illnesses too” (trust us, we know). Obviously not meant to replace medication!!
If anyone knows of additional witchy content for any of these that I missed, or content on a category I wasn’t able to include, feel free to send it my way and I’ll get a part two started for this post!
