unmaskingthedivine:

Here’s a short and sweet shadow work spread for those times when you feel something heavy hanging on your shoulders but aren’t sure what it is.

1) The PoisonThe source of your affliction, i.e. the experience(s) and resulting perspective(s) responsible for your distress.

2) The IllnessHow you’re being afflicted by the poison, i.e. how you absorbed the experience(s) and how it has affected your perspective(s).

3) The Antidote How to release the poison and remedy the wounds, i.e. how you can absolve the experience(s) and reconcile your perspective(s).

me: what should i do?

the cards: king of swords

me, using a different deck with a completely different minor arcana: *asks the same question*

the cards, giving me that deck’s equivalent of the king of swords: did i fucking stutter??

FLORENCE & THE MACHINE INSPIRED TAROT

a seven day, self-reflective challenge inspired by florence & the machine lyrics. questions are meant to reveal inner truths and invoke contemplation of the self, and are a form of shadow work. this spread relies heavily on relinquishing control in a difficult situation so as to come out better on the other side; the questions aim to help you cope with the impact, and breathe.

pull 3+ cards per question; the questions are inspired by my own interpretation of the lyrics, so if they don’t resonate with you, feel free to personalize them to better suit your own desires in a reading

day 1: “happiness hit her like a train on a track; coming towards her, stuck still, no turning back.” what catalyst is coming for me? how can i stop being afraid and let it run it’s course? how will it benefit me, even if it knocks me off my feet?

day 2: “with your big heart, you praise god above; but how’s that workin out for you, honey? do you feel loved?” what do i need to stop ‘worshiping?’ why isnt this thing im clinging to benefiting me?

day 3: “i must become a lion-hearted girl; ready for a fight; before i make the final sacrifice.” what strengths do i need to display? what do i need to give up to make myself stronger?

day 4: “be careful my darling; be careful of what it takes; what ive seen so far, the good ones always seem to break.” how can i shield myself? who should i turn to for support?

day 5: “lay me down; let the only sound, be the overflow; pockets full of stones.” what scary thing do i currently need to give into? should i let myself drown if it means ill come out pure and clear on the other side?

day 6: “grab me by the ankles, ive been flying for too long; i couldnt hide from the thunder in a sky full of song.” what good thing do i need to stop hiding from? how should i overcome it, so that the thing i fear can become beautiful again?

day 7: “tell me what you need, oh you look so free; the way you use your body, baby, come on and work it for me; dont let em get you down, youre the best thing ive seen; we never found the answer but we knew one thing.” what will i learn from this situation? how will the outcome affect me for the better?

Meditations based on the Major Arcana

If you find yourself stressed or simply desire a different form of meditation, go ahead and pick one, or, better yet, have your tarot tell you which meditation you should do!

0. Fool – meditate to some calming music, find a nice track
and let it fill your mind and body

1. Magician – recite a mantra of some sort, word or
phrase, pick something meaningful to you, not just what the internet suggests

2. High Priestess – the practice of attending: look at and assess each thought you have as you meditate

3. Empress – focus on self-love, find things you
appreciate about yourself, let love fill you and your soul

4. Emperor – count your heartbeats or your breaths

5. Hierophant – take this time to recite a prayer to a higher being, speak a blessing of some sort, or your equivalent

6. Lovers – send love, good vibes, and blessings to
a loved one

7. Chariot – focus on each body part separately,
flexing and relaxing each part from your toes to your head

8. Strength – stand up and do the sun salutation or
a similar yoga exercise, or if you’d rather, go work out

9. Hermit – ask a deep, philosophical question and
ponder on it for awhile

10. Wheel – diaphragmatic breathing: breath deeply from the diaphragm, so your stomach moves but your chest does not

11. Justice – find five things or people you are
grateful for and meditate on them

12. Hanged Man – the practice of mindfulness: simply
let your thoughts pass by as you meditate, not focusing on anything in particular

13. Death – take a short nap! please wake up, though

14. Temperance – the practice of visualization: visualize
your dreams about the future

15. Devil – focus on each sense individually, what do you feel, hear, see, if you want you can eat a small treat and focus on what you taste

16. Tower – candle meditation: focus on a flame,
image of a flame, or some sort of object

17. Star – take a bath or shower and focus on the
water cleansing both your body and mind

18. Moon – acknowledge your worries, then give them
up or let them go to a higher being

19. Sun – sit in sunlight or other bright light and
focus on the brightness, draining all your negativity away to be replaced with positivity

20. Judgment – focus on the energy within, how it
interacts with the earth and others around you

21. World – stand up and take a walk, preferably walk outside through nature

Enjoy and may all be well with each of you ❤

A new tarot spread inspired by…. @tarotprose

This one is a shield because they are always stepping in when things get bad and cover us in light and love. They shield us with their words from ourselves and other things.

So due to their actions this spread came about.

This spread is simple. It lets one see how amazing they are, where they get their strength and why others love them and care for them too.

I hope you enjoy
