Happy Chalica!

In 2005 many Unitarian Universalists began observing Chalica, a
week-long celebration of the seven principles of Unitarian Universalism. Beginning the first Monday in December, a chalice is lit each day. Each
we reflect on that days principle, and try do something to put it into
practice.

1st Day: The inherent worth and dignity of every person;

2nd Day: Justice, equity and compassion in human relations;

3rd Day: Acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth in our congregations;

4th Day: A free and responsible search for truth and meaning;

5th Day: The right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within our congregations and in society at large;

6th Day: The goal of world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all;

7th Day: Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part.
